Lines on big toe nails?

I have these vertical lines on my big toe nails...they seem like a splits and there are smaller faint ones. What causes this and how do i get rid of them?Lines on big toe nails?
You're getting older.

You can keep your nails healthy by ensuring you get enough gelatine in your diet. That's not normally a problem for meat eaters.

The ridges in your nails can be polished out using a fine emery board, but this will make the nails thin. If it's not causing you any problems, leave them alone.Lines on big toe nails?
usually a fungal infection and/or a Calcium deficientcy.
hi , if these lines are actual splits it usually shows a lack of calcium, if they are more like ridges then thats right for toe nails , you can make your nails smooth by gently filing them with a nail file you know the kind with several rough n smoother feels if that makes sense .. if they are splitting i have found that jelly helps ...do not make the jelly eat a cube a day from the packet ..i think its the glycerine thats init that works ...or the strong results nail hardener from avon works a treat %26amp; its about 拢3 ! !
I have ridges in my fingernails. Must be hereditary as I'm not deficient in anything.
I shouldn't think there is anything to worry about there, they might just be temporary lines that you got from banging your toe, wait for a new nail to grow.
I have these too, I think it's probably AIDS. Or cancer.
Possibly dryness. People tend to neglect their feet cos most of the time they're encased in shoes and socks and hidden away! Try to moisturse and massage your feet as often as possible, or better still get someone else to do it for you!
It's caused by vitamin deficiency. Either hereditary or due to poor diet.
